Skin Cancer Screening

Over 1,700 Australians lose their life each year to skin cancer and two in three Australians will be treated for skin cancer at some point in their life.

Even with such alarming statistics, the good news is that skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer with up to 95% of cases being cured when detected and treated in its early stages. Skin cancer screening is a life-saving imperative.

Our Practitioners

Our experienced practitioners are certified in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy and trained in the accurate identification of pigmented skin lesions that lead to skin cancer.

Our practitioners conduct private, full body assessments, discuss and document the individuals' personal and family history, and address any other skin concerns. Patients with suspicious lesions are referred to their private GP or a recommended clinic for further management.

Our Equipment

Invented in the United Kingdom and adopted world-wide, SIAscopy is a non-invasive technique that views 2mm below the skin surface. It creates sub-surface skin maps of different skin components including hemoglobin, melanin, dermal melanin and collagen.

Our practitioners analyse surface imagery from the SIAscopy, searching for dark patches on the skin to determine the difference between a normal mole and potential skin cancer. This prevents the removal of normal, non-cancerous lesions and reduces the risk of unnecessary scarring.

Our Service

The Echelon Health skin cancer screening and education service is fully transportable allowing screening of small or large groups at their workplace.

Echelon Health provides individual and company reporting upon completion. Individual reports include the history, referral details and specific information and education materials relating to that individual. Company reports include their workforce statistics, ratios and preventative education measures and recommendations.

Skin cancer patients receive a follow-up appointment 1-3 months later.
